Come ride with off-road.cc
We want you to get involved with off-road.cc and what better way to kick that off than with a spot of bike riding?
We're going to be holding regular ride outs in the South West region with the team from off-road.cc and this is our very first, held in our local spot of Leigh Woods in Bristol at 7pm, Thursday 13th July.
All you have to do is head to Eventbrite to sign up so we know you're coming.
It's a social ride, so all abilities are welcome, though if you've never ridden a blue graded mountain bike trail before then it's probably not for you. We'll stick to the main routes around Leigh Woods and can duck into Ashton Court for those that fancy it and, depending on group ability/the amount of time spent chatting, we might do more before pottering down to a nearby pub - possibly The George or maybe head back over the bridge in Clifton. Basically, we'll play it by ear and group consensus. Play your cards right and we'll buy you a drink.
Parking is in the main Forestry Commission car park - follow this link for a map - turn in off the main road and follow the road all the way down to the main carpark. We'll probably have about 15 minutes grace after 7pm for those stuck in traffic, but if you miss that then hopefully we'll bumble into you on the trails.
We plan to start doing our ride outs all around the South West and maybe further beyond soon. We're also keen to get involved with some brands so there will be cool new stuff that you can get your hands on and try out.
What you'll need
Seeing as it's summer, you probably won't need a full-on front light, but it might be worth bringing a small front and backup rear one just in case you stay out a bit late.
Bike wise, you're going to need a mountain bike of some kind in full working order, though if you want to bring you drop bar gravel or CX machine we won't stop you. e-bikes are more than welcome too, but we would want you to wait for us
Disclaimer: this isn't a guided ride and we aren't responsible for your safety. Pack all the kit you might need - spares, tools, tubes, food, extra clothing - and if you don't have a helmet, you're on your own, no exceptions.
