Specialized launch the new Hotwalk - A carbon balance bikes especially for kids
Released today is Specialized's new Hotwalk. While made for kids, it's been very serious business for the brand to create a bike that's as light as possible while resulting in the best ride quality that Specialized can offer.

- Buyer’s guide to kid’s mountain bike helmets: how to choose the best lid for your child
- When should you replace your bicycle helmet?
Specialized has put in 45 years of industry know-how into the design of the Hotwalk all in the pursuit of a balance bike that offers kids the same technology that's developed for the brand's podium topping bikes.
At for forefront of the bike's design is its weight. As such, the handlebar, fork and wheels made from carbon, with the frame being constructed from FACT 9r, the same carbon as what's on the brand's road and mountain bikes. The decision over this frame material has also been made over its natural compliance.
Spesh has gone so far to even spec tyres with a super light casing (which have been designed specifically to match the wheels) with the effort resulting in a balance bike that's set to weigh just 2.1kg.
Making the Hotwalk, even more, kid-friendly is that the grips have been shrunk by 38% to provide a better contact point for little hands.
The Specialized Hotwalk is available from today at Specialized retailers and online. It'll set you back £1,000
