RockShox updates Flight Attendant features for the 2025 Lyrik, ZEB and Pike
RockShox’s Flight Attendant active suspension has been a pioneering system for riders who desire real-time self-adjusting forks and shock dynamics. Leveraging all the integrated benefits of wireless components, Flight Attendant has proved its value in XC and XCO racing with baseline tests recording 1.8% faster speeds in a single XC World Cup lap. Compound that gain over the 90-minute race distance and it’s a telling 96-second advantage.

The ability of Flight Attendant electronics and control modules to select the appropriate fork and shock settings, as required, means riders can focus entirely on effort and terrain interpretation – instead of thinking about settings.
And now the brand has brought its updated Flight Attendant technology to its latest range of Charger 3.1 damped forks and shocks.
Flight Attendant 3.1 forks
RockShox’s Pike, Lyrik, and ZEB Ultimate forks now have a Charger 3.1 Flight Attendant electronic automatic damper option. It’s an evolution of RockShox’s existing Charger 3 damper, with the ability to instantly select Open, Pedal or Lock positions, depending on rider and terrain inputs.
The Charger 3.1 Flight Attendant electronic automatic dampers increase traction and steering confidence in steep and technical trail sections while retaining optimal compression support and preventing fork dive in high-speed berms. The 2025 model year Pike, Lyrik, and ZEB Ultimate forks also benefit from an upgraded lower-friction bushing package, for improved feel and reduced stiction, straight out of the box.
RockShox offers three options for trail and enduro riders seeking all the advanced suspension benefits of Flight Attendant for their bike’s rear shocks.
The first is Super Deluxe Ultimate Flight Attendant, with its electronic three-position Flight Attendant RC3 damper. Engineers at RockShox have reduced the Super Deluxe Ultimate Flight Attendant’s high-speed compression damping to enhance bump sensitivity and traction.
Big-hitting electronic shocks
There's the Vivid Ultimate Flight Attendant for larger riders, or those enduro mountain bikers who need more air volume for long, steep, descents. Featuring RockShox’s TouchDown RC3 Flight Attendant damper, this is the company’s most rider-tuneable air spring yet. Use the SRAM AXS app to adapt low-speed compression to your needs, whether you need more small-bump sensitivity or platform support in high-speed corners.
For decades, coil-sprung shocks have been the choice for riders who want to ride the most demanding terrain and enjoy mountain biking at the lowest suspension maintenance cost. The sacrifice was climbing efficiency and adjustability.
RockShox’s Vivid Coil Ultimate Flight Attendant is designed to bring all the descending confidence of a coil-spring shock, with the benefits of enhanced climbing efficiency. The electronic three-position Flight Attendant TouchDown RC3 damper is at its core, with the coil offering 20 clicks of rebound adjustment.
For enduro riders who want the fade-free performance of a coil shock for those long descents, but also value retaining autonomous climbing efficiency without having to reach for adjuster dials, the Vivid Coil Ultimate Flight Attendant makes all the correct decisions for you.
As with all other RockShox Flight Attendant components, these new trail and enduro suspension updates are configurable using the SRAM AXS app. Riders can also use ‘Bias Adjust’, which alters the Flight Attendant software to favour either more Open, Pedal, or Lock dynamics when responding to terrain and pedal position.
It’s a complete system
The one caveat is that the Flight Attendant fork and suspension bits don’t operate independently.
You must run a complete Flight Attendant system on your trail or enduro bikes. That implies a Flight Attendant fork, shock, and power meter, to create the comprehensive source data ecosystem needed for the algorithm to ensure you’re always ideally configured – whether climbing, pedalling, or descending.
Pricing for these new trail and enduro Flight Attendant components are £1,609 for the ZEB Ultimate, £1,569 for the Lyrik, and £1,519 for a Pike. The Super Deluxe Ultimate Flight Attendant shock is £939, but if you want an electronically controlled Vivid Ultimate or Coil, those aren’t available aftermarket – so you’ll have to buy a frameset or complete bike fitted with one.
