Off Road Arrivals
The weeks seem to pass faster and faster with the onset of Autumn. Maybe it's just us and our wish to prolong the warm weather that makes the time appear to speed by. Whatever the reason, another round of Off-Road Arrivals is upon us, so let's have a look at the kit arriving this week.....
ION K-Sleeve Knee Pads
The K-Sleeve knee pads are a brand new version of the company's minimalistic pads. They are super lightweight using a perforated Memory Foam Pad inside a sleeve made from mesh type material. They look like they will be light, stretchy and breathable, we're looking forward to seeing just how much protection they offer.
Ion Women's Clothing
Also from Ion we are taking a look at the women's Scrub range of trail wear. The Scrub line is aimed at 'enduro' or all mountain riding, incorporating a looser fit jersey and a knee length cut to the shorts. We've worn Ion kit previously and are always impressed by the quality and fit of this gear, hopefully 2018 will be no different!
Columbia Women's Outdry Ex Stretch Shell
This is a really interesting jacket from Columbia, not just because of its rubberised look. The jacket is fully waterproof and features technology constructed with a waterproof breathable layer on the outside rather than the inside as with most other jackets. Columbia say the garment is super breathable and durable. Certainly, it looks like you can roll about in the mud in this one for many months with no problems!
Mondraker Factor RR
We are into our 120mm trail bikes at the moment. We reckon they make a lot of sense with the winter drawing in, short blasts closer to home are the order of the day rather than long missions into the Welsh hillsides. We'll be testing a range of shorter travel bikes over the coming months and this Mondraker Factor RR is one of the first through the door.
The Factor RR has 120mm of travel at the rear, 130mm up front and Mondraker's distinctive longer and lower geometry, the reach on our medium sized test bike is a massive 471mm! We'll be taking a full first look at this bike next week so check back then for all the details.
Ride It Ladies Edge Jersey
Last but by no means least, flying in the doors late on Thursday afternoon is the Edge Jersey from Scottish brand Ride It. The jersey is available in both a ladies and a men's version (its the ladies we have here) and is equipped with a small side pocket, a glasses wipe and mesh material under the arms to keep things well ventilated. The company is brainchild of graphic designer, Ally Mackay and after seeing some of his custom kit designs, this brand is one to watch for striking designs in the future.
