The brand said that working with both Smith and Williams enables it to showcase the variety of e-mountain bikes perfectly, as the two riders will tackle trails from Somerset to around the world at the e-MTB XC World Cup and E-EDR series.
Chris Smith- who is an ex-professional freeride mountain bike rider, National Four Cross champion, BMX rider and downhill mountain biker - will be riding the Haibike Lyke and Hybe models - depending on the demands of the terrain.
Smith, who worked as a presenter for EMBN for the last four years, said: “I’m super excited to be joining the Haibike family, It’s a brand that has been at the forefront of the e-MTB game since 2010 and pioneered the first performance e-MTB! To this day they have been making massive moves forward within the industry.”
Joining Smith is a professional e-enduro rider, Rob Williams, who already has a European Enduro Championship under his belt. He will be racing on the Haibike AllMtn CF SE throughout the E-EDR and e-MTB XC World Cups.
Williams said: “It's great to be part of a brand that solely focuses on e-bikes. This support is helping me to reach another level in my racing and riding. I see e-biking growing massively, with more and more varied events. In the E-EDR my targets are to achieve some top 10 DH stages and power stage wins. I'm excited about the e-MTB-XC World Championships and will do everything to be in great shape for that race.”
Smith and Williams will sit alongside Professional e-MTB racers Andrea Garibbo and Léa Deslandes, Alia Marcellini and Anna Spielmann who are also competing for Haibike in the 2023 season.
