Giant overhauls Stance trail bike
Giant has updated its Stance trail mountain bike with fresh components, including a brand-new Giant STL suspension fork and Contact Switch AT dropper seat post. The full-suspension Stance lineup will now comprise three models: Stance 29 1, Stance 29 2 and Stance (the latter is the only one that utilises 27.5-inch wheels).
- Trail mountain biking - everything you need to know
- Best mountain bikes for under £1000 in 2023 - top-rated budget mountain bikes
- Gravel bike vs mountain bike: what are the differences?
The Stance 29 1 will use the Crest 34 SL RCL fork but with an increased 140mm of travel, the two others get a brand new Giant STL Suspension Fork – also with 140mm of travel. The new fork effectively combines a custom negative coil spring with an adjustable positive air spring and an exclusive Giant Pro Tuned Damper, offering a wide range of adjustments for a plush ride.
In addition to the new fork, the updated Stance models also come with a new Contact Switch AT dropper seatpost that offers enhanced features for adjustability. The dropper is available with 100, 140, 170 and 200mm of travel and offers 30mm of tool-free adjustability, as you can reduce the travel by using 5, 10, or 15mm spacers. It also features a rotatable actuator for eliminating tight cable bends, hence ensuring maximum seatpost insertion and better cable action.
The redesigned seat tube and cockpit make it suitable for a wide range of rider heights, riding styles and bike sizes – even the smaller frames.
