Fizik releases Nanuq GTX winter MTB shoe

Fizik has released its new Nanuq GTX mountain bike shoe for off-road winter riding. The new shoe is insulated and waterproof to keep the feet dry and comfy, even in the wettest and coldest weather – here are the full details.
- Cycling shoes: everything you need to know
- Best mountain bike shoes 2023 - top-rated flat and clipless kicks
- Best gravel bike shoes 2023
Inside the Nanuq GTX is an insulated fleece liner and insole for warmth and, on the outside, the upper is made of a layered, ripstop woven fabric designed to resist abrasion and tearing, a must for all mountain bike applications.
The standout feature of the shoe is, however, the reinforced toecap, heel and side areas. These have been layered with thermo-laminated PU for added durability so they should confidently fend off all manners of knocks and scrapes.
The shoe closes with a Boa Fit System for easy adjustment and the extended, neoprene ankle cuff is zipped.
The Nanuq GTX comes in two versions, catering to both clip-in and flat-pedal preferences. Both versions feature the X2 outsole, which has been engineered to deliver an optimal balance between efficient pedalling performance and comfort and walkability off the bike. Both of the shoes have a compressed EVA midsole for stability and cushioning and Vibram XS Trek EVO rubber tread ensures grip and traction in hike-a-bike situations.
On the clipless shoe, the directional lug pattern is tailored for non-slippy footing when walking off of the bike. The clipless pedal also gets an extended cleat track to allow for plenty of adjustability. The flat-pedal version features a low-profile, tapered tread pattern on the midsole that's been crafted to offer an immediate and optimal connection with the pedal pins.
The Nanuq GTX is available in Black-Grey colourway, and sizes range from EU36 to 48 (37 to 47 also in half sizes) and costs £290.
