Endura have just launched their first mountain bike overshoe for flat pedal riders, the MT500 Plus Overshoe. Let winter commence!

Endura say this is an industry first and we agree, it's the first time we've seen an overshoe or bootie designed specifically for flat pedals and shoes. We've used plenty of pairs of the original MT500 Overshoe's and have found them to be a godsend in the utterly miserable conditions that riding through a UK winter usually brings. Wearing these overshoes will your insulate your feet keeping them warm, dry and critically, will keep the grit and mud off your shoes. 

Having worn these overshoes to death in the past, until the sole gave way, we can imagine that this must have been quite a feat of engineering for the bods at Endura to be able to create a durable, long lasting and comfortable overshoe. They would need to be built to withstand the bite of flat pedal pins whilst allowing the shoes to grip the pedal as effectively as it would normally. Endura says they have created a "Super tough, nylon faced neoprene upper with highly durable overlays and a hardwearing rubber open sole for flat or clipless pedals."

There is a large opening on the sole of the overshoes allowing the shoe to contact the pedal as it would normally. Up front and there is an aggressive tread pattern at the toes for added grip when walking. The moulded tread continues around the base of the shoe which looks to be pretty substantial and hardwearing. 

Where previously the MT500 Overshoes would only fit over slim XC shoes it sounds like MT500 Plus version will also accommodate chunkier all mountain shoes with SPD's too - good news all round!
