Cool new bikes ready to test from Santa Cruz, Boardman and Bombtrack
Only the biggest packages delivered to the off.road.cc office last week, leaving just bikes for this weeks 'cool things'. We've got a good mixture in this trio - high-end enduro bike, a budget trail bike and an all-out adventurer!
Santa Cruz Nomad R
We like to review bikes at the cheaper end of the scale and whilst this Nomad isn't exactly cheap at £3,600, it is the bottom of the range bike and its alloy form too. Check out the full first look here:
Boardman MTR 8.9
Seen one of these before? Nope, neither had we until we had a visit from the guys at Boardman last week. The brand new MTR 8.9 is a 27.5", 140mm travel trail bike, equipped with a 67 degree head angle, slacker than the PRO FS it replaces.
Kit wise there is a Revelation RC fork, a Deluxe RC Shock, SRAM NX drivetrain and SRAM Level T brakes, all for £1,600. There is also an MTR 8.8 available for £12,00 and an MTR 8.6 for a grand. Boardman also delves into the world of women's specific bikes with the MTR 8.8 Women's, a bike identical in geometry, spec and price to the men's MTR 8.8 but just with a different saddle and in different colours.
Our Ed, Jon, is already out putting in laps on this new steed and will be getting a review up ASAP.
Bombtrack Beyond+ 1
The Bombtrack Beyond+ 1 promises to be a plus tyred adventure bike capable of some rigid trail bike fun when the bags come off. We've just got one in for test and it looks like just the ticket for some big, remote cycling adventures!
