A quick look at some of the essential but often overlooked bits of kit that editor Jon takes on every ride. There's everything here to get you home, or out of a sticky situation including tools, a first aid kit and a mini shock pump and it's all in a bum bag too!

Being well prepared for a ride is something that is well worth the time and energy spent sorting out. It doesn't mean you have to pack everything plus the kitchen sink either, all these items fit into a fanny pack with 1.5L of water too!
