Developed as part of their Body Geometry programme, Specialized has just launched a new shoe range. The 2FO Roost mountain bike shoes come in clipless and flat varieties with a casual look and a solid 3 generation SlipNot, tacky sole. 

Getting us excited this week is a new titanium gravel bike from Ribble, the 2021 CGR Ti Sport, plus alternative pedals from Look, new mountain bike shoes from Specialized and knobbly gravel tyres from Continental. Dig in....

The IXS Trigger AM helmet is a mid-price trail lid that does away with extra MIPS-like layers, but adds value in terms of build quality and nifty buckles. In 2020 though, it looks dated and there aren't many size options. 

The 7iDP Project Knee pads bridge the gap between big, bulky downhill pads and slimline pads aimed primarily at pedalling. They're well made and mostly very comfortable, though the rear vents and upper straps don't work at well as they should for every shape of rider.

The 2021 Specialized Stumpjumper Expert is a completely refreshed model with updated geometry and – on the carbon models – a new suspension platform with flex stays instead of a lower pivot. In this spec it's an incredible all rounder, though the price is undeniably steep. I guess you do get SWAT, though...

The Scott Women's Trail Storm WP is a waterproof jacket that's both rugged and well fitting. It does very well in the 'stay dry' stakes too, but it's a little warm and really best kept for the very wildest weather.
