Product reviews

The Funkier Flow-MTB 3/4 Sleeve jersey is a comprehensive but well-vented summer jersey that deals really well with heat and sweat. The fit and sizing are great, and it's still comfy when layered over in colder months, but those brilliant white panels don't stay white once mud and washing have their way.

The Funkier Flow-MTB 3/4 jersey is aimed primarily at the enduro rider. Constructed entirely from polyester, the jersey features mesh side panels for enhanced airflow. They do the job well too. The jersey feels very light and never gets sweaty, even when buried under layers and a heavy waterproof jacket (the winter test period has hardly been hot and sunny in the UK, though that's what the Flow-MTB's for). It stays comfy when damp, and dries quickly.

The fabric is rated SPF 50, which means it blocks 98 percent of ultraviolet (UV) rays – a useful feature, especially given the extra elbow coverage. However, it's something I’ve been unable to test, because in the UK the sun blew into the sea and went out several months back.

The Flow-MTB fits really well. The 3/4 length sleeves are long enough for elbow coverage, but short enough not to get in the way. And while the rear hem isn’t dropped, the whole thing is long enough to keep dirt from finding its way down your shorts. It's loose but not baggy.

There’s only one real downside, and that's to do with the admittedly stylish looks; the white parts don't stay that way. After a few rides and washes, ours are... funkier. Not ideal if you like your whites pearly – the red and black version should deal with trail filth better.

Funkier’s Flow-MTB Enduro 3/4 Sleeve jersey fits and performs really well. The airflow and wicking properties are excellent, while the sun protection is a nice touch for its intended summer use. It’s just a shame it seems prone to staining that detracts from those bold looks.
