SUNringle's new SR 309/307 wheels are primed for enduro and downhill riding
The most durable wheels form the heart of any heavy-hitting mountain bike. Without strength, you simply won't have the confidence to ride the radical terrain that comprises top-level enduro and downhill courses. With that in mind, SUNringle's new SR 307 and SR 309 wheels for enduro and downhill look set to bring big strength in an affordable alloy package.

SUNringle believes that durability is the holy grail and, while fancy technologies add to a great wheelset, the whole thing needs to perform on the trail, rather than in testing environments. The brand says that its new SR 307 and 309 enduro and downhill wheels are built to be strong, but simple for easy tubeless setup while providing a heap of flexibility, with options for individual wheels so riders can pick their wheels for the desired characteristics.
The new SR 307 and 309 wheels come in three builds with Enduro Pro and Expert specifications and a single Downhill Pro model. The former utilises SUNringle's Super Bubba X CNC machined freehub equipped with four degrees of engagement. The Enduro Pro wheels dial things back a bit with Ringle's SRX CNC machined hub that offers 12 degrees of engagement.
As for the SR 307 and 309 Downhill Pro wheels, they're built to be even burlier. The Ringle Bubba J-bend hub uses dual ratchet rings that offer four or eight degrees of engagement.
All wheelsets are built using 6069 aluminium rims with a welded joint and sandblasted to a matte-black finish. The rims come with a 30mm internal width for resistance against pinch flats and they use the STR Tubeless Ready profile for tyre security, and ease of setup. Both the Expert and Pro wheels run Wheelsmith DB14 Double Butted Spokes.
For those who want the ultimate build options, all SR 307 and 309 wheels are available in 29-inch and 650b sizes and as rim-only kits.
