Video: Rigid retro bike vs. Enduro World Series track
Just how much has bike technology moved on in the last 25 years? The guys at Chain Reaction Cycles put that to the test by throwing Enduro World Series presenter Ric McLaughlin down a very modern enduro race stage on a very retro rigid GT Outpost and recording it all for our amusement.

It's safe to say that it's a very different experience than riding the sort of 160mm travel enduro bike that the pros use, what with the complete lack of suspension, tiller-like stem and period Michelin tyres. The latter didn't offer much grip when the bike was first sold by the fledgling Chain Reaction Cycles shop back in 1992 and we doubt the intervening years have helped.
Anyway, sit back, relax and enjoy as Ric trades his usual comfy course preview machine in for vibration white finger. Is this video enough to shut up those boring guys that reckon modern bikes are a waste of time as their old rigid machine is just fine? Probably not, but there you go...
