Ibis Introduce New Gravel Bike - The Hakka MX
The new Ibis Hakka MX gravel bike, launched this week is a descendant of their past cyclocross bike the Hakkalugi but with this incarnation sporting wider tyre clearance, an ability to run different wheel and tyre sizes and all the added bells and whistles for some serious bike packing.
- Review - Mondrker Factor RR - this bike has a top trump card!
- Feature - Talking disc brake tech with SRAM
Ibis says this is their most versatile bike yet, with the carbon framed bike able to use a choice of wheel and tyre combinations. Each combination changing the purpose of the Hakka MX, covering all bases from gravel to cyclo-cross to road.
Ride 700 x 40c tires for ultra-plush bikepacking and burlier terrain, for nearly full roadie choose with 700 x 25c tyres and Ibis reckon you'll blend in nicely on a Sunday club ride and no-one will know what you got up to last weekend! The last combination uses 27.5 x 2.1" tyres and is called Monstercross BEAST mode! More comfort and traction is on offer for those big adventure rides.
Other things to know about the Ibis Hakka are:
- 142mm through axle rear dropout spacing
- Versatile Internal Cable Routing
- Compression Molded Carbon Dropouts
- Disc Brake Compatible
- Two Color Choices, Fireball or Coal
- Dropper Post Compatible
- Warranty: 7 years
There is also a funky looking mudguard mount (above), a dropped drive side chain stay to maximise clearance and the use of an oversized T47 (threaded) bottom bracket to allow the use of 30mm cranks spindles and increased stiffness.
The bike will be available as a frame only (supplied with Enve CX Disc fork, thru axle) in Coal (black) and Fireball (red) - £2099.00
