Bargain alert! Lidl launch their summer range of cycle clothing this Thursday with some absolute steals to be had. Lidl have built up a reputation for their very affordable road and mountain bike clothing, but it isn’t always available so unless you shop there regularly you could easily miss out. We list the highlights below, you won’t get cycle clothing much cheaper than this!
First up are a cycling staple, lycra shorts. These are just £7.99 or come as 3/4 length tights too for the same price. There is a women's version and both feature the kind of details you'd want to see in a good short. There is a chamois pad, non-slip bands around the cuffs, reflective details on the thighs and a small pocket in the waistband.
Next up is the short sleeved Crivit jersey, again there are multiple designs for both men and women in a range of sizes. The zip up jersey is constructed from moisture regulation TOPCOOL fabric, has three pockets at the rear plus a non-slip band at the rear to help it stay in place. At just £6.99 it looks like a proper bargain!
We were stunned by the £14.99 price tag on this pair of cycle shoes! They are available in sizes 7-11 and as well as the trainer type design with a velcro tab to secure the laces above, they also come in a lace up 'skate style' option below. We reckon these are going to be flying off the shelves!
They are flat shoes only though so might appeal more to the casual commuter or mountain biker. For £15, we would be more than happy to slip into a pair of these post ride.
The Crivit Sports Glasses also caught our eye, no pun intended! They are available as either a half rim design as above or full rim below. Both come with three interchangeable lenses (mirror, smoke and orange) a case and a glasses wipe although unfortunately, it doesn't look like they come with a clear lens. At £6.99 though with 100% UV protection, these are likely to see you through the summer months and at that price, you won't get too upset if you scratch them!
The ultra highlight has got to be the small saddle bag with a toolkit for £5.99. Inside the bag there is a 12 function folding multi-tool and a tube repair kit or you can buy the same bag minus the toolkit but with a mini pump instead.
Aside from these highlights, there is also a 20L rucksack for £9.99, a mobile phone holder to attach to your stem for £3.99 and fingerless gloves also for £3.99. All the men's gear comes in sizes medium - extra large and the women's in small to large. In our experience, this kit sells out fast, get in quick from Thursday morning!
