ASSOS Trail Women's Winter Softshell
£245
ASSOS launched their 'Trail' mountian bike kit not long ago and we've reviewed jerseys and lycra here on off.road.cc previously. Now is the turn of some winter gear with a women's softshell hoodie on test. This jacket uses the brands NEOS Medium 3-layer material which gets a PU bonded membrane, a feature which aims to make the jacket water resistant, breathable, windproof and insulating too.
It comes just in black, there is abrasion resistant material on the elbows and there is a nifty zip at the rear so you can access rear pockets if you have food stuffed in your jersey. The jacket is available both a men's and a women's fit, there are 7 men's sizes to choose from and 6 ladies ones.
ASSOS Women's Winter LS Skin Layer
£85
Pairing with the softshell above is this LS Skin Layer base layer. High necked and with insulating knit fabric and a seamless construction, the underlayer looks toasty warm. ASSOS says that there are carbon fibres blended into the yar to efficiently draw moisture from the skin, with wool added too to trap in warmth. The base layer is available for men and for women in black and both at £85.
Van Nicolas Rowtag
£4,987
Borrowed from road.cc testers the Van Nicholas Rowtag is the brand’s titanium gravel racer that is designed to cross over from rough tracks to smooth roads and anything in between. It's a gravel adventurer too with multiple frame mounts, two on the top tube, seat tube and bottom of the down tube, as well as three on top of the down tube. Mat Brett has been testing the Rowtag with a 2x11 Shimano GRX set up, and with 650B wheels wrapped in 48mm robust Panaracer Gravelking SK tyres. His review will be live on road.cc soon.
Pirelli Cinturato Gravel M Classic tyre
£55
Designed for mixed terrain, the Pirelli Cintura Gravel M Classis tyres is an off-road tyre which promises grip in all weather conditions. Cinturato Gravel comes in two flavours - H for hard-packed trails and M for mixed-terrain riding. The knobs look to be of average height with decent spacing, looking very different to the closely packed Cinturato Gravel H which you can see here. The tyres are made form the brands SpeedGRIP compound which promises grip without a compromise in rolling resistance. This is in comparison with Pirelli's SmartGRIP compound which offers a stickier tread for more grip but with a decrease in rolling resistance.
Vittoria Airliner Gravel
£TBC
Just launched in October, the Vittoria Airliner Gravel is a foam tyre insert following in the footsteps of the brand's mountain bike insert. Made for defending against rim damage, prevent pinch flats and allow for the rider to run lower pressures to gain grip. Made from EVA foam, the Airliner the inserts are claimed to weigh 47g each.
Rockrider AM100 S
£1,400
Our favourite, a well priced trail bike! This one is from Decathlon, its a 29er and gets 140mm of travel at the rear and 150mm up front. There isn't a huge amount of geometry information on the website but the trail bike does get a 66 degree head angle and comes in four sizes from Small to XL. The alloy bike is Boost front and rear with thru axels.
In terms of spec, the bike gets a SRAM NX Eagle drivetrain (12spd), SRAM Level T brakes with four piston calipers, a Manitou McLeod Air shock, a Rockshox 35 Gold fork, plus there is a dropper post too. If you want to know more, we will have a first look ready for you soon, keep an eye out on the site for more.
