Marzocchi brings fat stanchions to the Super Z

Before the debut of the RockShox Zeb, the standard enduro fork typically featured 36mm stanchions and came in the form of the Fox 36, RockShox Lyrik and Marzocchi Z1. Since then, brands have been following suit, offering forks with thick stanchions that mimic that of a dual-crown fork and the now 'all mountain' forks. Today, Marzocchi has stepped into the fat stanchion game as it has unveiled the Super Z.

Video: Jackson Goldstone rides the Podium Gold 36

Earlier this week, Fox stole the headlines by launching a new, reverse-arched 32 Step-Cast fork and three new dampers. On top of that, to celebrate 50 years in the biz, Fox coated a limited run of its forks in a Podium Gold colourway. In this video, Jackson Goldstone shows you exactly how hard the new Fox 36 can be ridden – and how well that colourway shines.

Pinarello marks its return to cross-country mountain biking with the Dogma XC

Having taken both Tom Pidcock and Pauline Ferrand-Prevot to the top step of the podium several times already, it was only a matter of time before the Dogma XC and Dogma XC Hardtail were available to the public. We already know a lot about these bikes but Pinarello has unveiled the build kits, prices and even more details than before.

New Muc-Off portable pressure washer gets snow foam function and runs off of a battery

Muc-Off's bike-friendly Pressure Washer has become one of the brand's biggest sellers. It does exactly what you would expect of a pressure washer but compared to regular, off-the-shelf alternatives, it's not so powerful that it'll blow the grease right out of your bearings. It also comes with a neat Snow Foam attachment that coats your pride and joy in a thick layer of the brand's Nano Tech cleaner. But today, Muc-Off has introduced a portable version of its cleaner. Here's everything you need to know.

Crankbrothers Stamp Trail Boa shoe review

This year Crankbrothers launched its freshest kicks, the Stamp Trail Boa which were crafted especially for trail riding to reduce foot fatigue and improve off-bike traction compared to the regular Stamp. With it, the brand has done a stellar job, providing a shoe that performs in a range of conditions whilst being grippy on the bike and during those hike-a-bike scenarios. All is very well with these shoes but if I were to niggle, the unique tread pattern can get a little cumbersome.

Fox Transfer dropper post gets updated for 2024

Hot off the heels of the new 32 Step-Cast fork and fresh dampers is the revamped Fox Transfer dropper post. Now, the post is bang up to date, featuring a larger range of travels, a shorter stack and a smoother action, says the brand. Here are all of the details.

Gates to award €100K to the first DH winner on a belt drive

Traditional chain-driven drivetrains have been a staple of downhill bikes on the World Cup circuit since the sport was born but chain malfunctions are still rife. Although that adds to the excitement, take Aaron Gwin's outstanding win at Leogang in 2015, belt drives appear to be a solution. As a result, Gates is poised to set downhill alight, offering €100,000 to the first person to win a UCI Mountain Bike Downhill World Cup using a Gates belt-drive system.

New DT Swiss Ratchet Deg freehub boosts durability with modified 4-degree engagement ratchet design

It's been quite a while since we've seen a new freehub from DT Swiss but the brand has unveiled its latest Ratchet Deg system. In true DT Swiss fashion, it uses the classic ratchet design but this hub offers a four-degree engagement angle with 90 teeth, making this the smallest engagement angle in the brand's portfolio.

Video: Bombtrack welcomes back Sofiane Sehili

After two years away from the brand, elite-level distance racer, Sofiane Sehili has returned to Bombtrack. But, his fresh Bombtrack bike has been stored in Reno since 2023's Sea Otter, so in classic Sehili style, he rode across the Sierra Nevada to collect it. What better way to rekindle a sponsorship than with a bikepacking epic?

Manitou Mattoc Pro suspension fork review - Huge adjustability and stiffness in a lightweight package

The Manitou Mattoc Pro takes everything I love about the Mezzer Pro enduro fork and whittles it down into a thinner-stanchioned package that’s ripe for a wide range of trail riding. Because it borrows the same damper and air spring, this fork is beautifully smooth as it moves through its travel, it’s mega adjustable and it's plenty stiff enough for aggressive outings. However, while its weight is impressively low for trail applications, it’s not quite as competitive as a cross-country fork and some features aren’t as user friendly as other offerings.
