Cane Creek introduce the Helm suspension forks for 29er and plus sized bikes
Cane Creek has just announced the arrival of a new fork to the Helm line up, a 29er and plus sized fork which will be available with both an air and coil version immediately.
Cane Creek launched the Helm fork with the 27.5" air version and quickly followed this up with a coil sprung fork which we had a closer look at whilst at Eurobike last year. The new 29er fork obviously comes with a longer damper cartridge, and different lowers and crown too, with the offset sitting at 51mm. Cane Creek say the 27.5+ wheels will fit a 2.9" tyre and 29er wheels will squeeze in a 2.5" tyre depending on rim width of course.
As with the older forks, the travel is internally adjustable from 130-160mm for coil sprung versions and 100-160mm for the air version in 10mm increments. The older 27.5" forks range from 140-170mm so there is a bigger range of travel on offer from the air sprung 29ers.
The claimed weight for the Boost only forks is 2080 grams for the air forks and 2,340g for the coil ones. Adjustment wise there are 10 positions of high speed compression, 20 positions of low speed compression,15 positions of low speed rebound, 9 positions air volume reduction (no accessories needed), internal travel adjustment and independently adjustable positive and negative air chambers (air sprung version only).
The forks are available for order immediately, retail for £950 (same as the 27.5" brothers) for both coil and air versions.
