5 cool things from Crankbrothers, Morvelo, Bell, Kali and Schwalbe
We sighted some fresh Snowdrops this week, this fact, plus the appearance of the first bit of summer mountain bike kit for test must mean spring is just around the corner! Aside from the arm-baring number from Morvelo we've also got a cool looking pump from Crankbrothers, some skinny tyres from Schwalbe and two lids from Kali and Bell.
Crankbrothers Klic Pump and Burst Tank
The Klic Pump and Burst Tank is Crankbrothers answer to Topeak’s Joe Blow Booster, Bontrager’s TLR Flash Pump and the small but mighty Airshot to name but a few. A little late to the party, the Crank Bro’s features a removable pressurised chamber for inflating tubeless tyres and a pressure gauge on a hidden magnetic hose. Check out our full first look here for all the details.
Morvelo Clothing
Summer riding gear - this really fills our hearts with joy! This funky short-sleeved number is the Women's Friday MTB Jersey. Yes, there's a men's option too and both sexes get the choice of a t-shirt jersey like this or a zip up option for the gravel/road riders out there.

Schwalbe G-One Bite 40mm Tyres
The G-One's are a gravel tyre from Schwalbe, which they say will suit most gravelly type rides from tarmac to rough muddy forest tracks. Designed to complement its existing G-One Speed and G-One Allround tyres, the new G-One Bite is designed to offer a bit more traction in rough, loose and slippery terrain. The tread pattern features a spread of taller round knobs spaced loosely along the sides and tightly packed in the centre, to provide fast rolling characteristics. The knobs are siped to allow them to deform for increased grip in the loose. We've got some in for test in 700x40mm size, and going on what we've read of other reviews of the road counterparts, these should be pretty good!
Kali Maya Helmet
The Maya lid from Kali isn't new but it caught our eye at The Bike Place Show recently and with Kali's rep for uber comfy lids, we thought we'd give it a spin. The Maya has an 'enduro' feel with low coverage at the rear and a large adjustable peak. Kali also make lids in pleasingly small sizes, something pinhead Rachael here in the office really appreciates....
Bell Sixer Helmet
Our noggin's are doubly protected, we've also go the Bell Sixer in for test. It's a new addition to the brands' mountain bike lid line sitting just under the new Super 3R as an open face 'enduro' option. There are plenty of colour options available, including some more female-friendly colourways too. That said, our female tester wasn't too keen on the gloss white/ pink/camo thing - we can't understand why!
